A childrens ( or other type ) film is rated at 18, what is happening
If there is a problem with the information stored on the database, and a film does not have any age classification, the site defaults to rating it at 18. This is the safest course of action to ensure a film is not rated accidentally too low. It is treated as an 18 film and will be sold as an 18 film. This should be a rare occurence and if found will be corrected as soon as possible.
When I add an item to my basket, it does not show in the shopping basket, why ?
The most likely cause is that your browser is set to not accept cookies. Cookies are used by VistaDVD to hold you shopping basket details, and if your browser security is to deny acceptance of cookies, the shopping basket will not function. You can check your security settings in IE using the 'Internet Options' sub-menu option within the 'Tools' main menu option.
For Example, if using Internet Explorer, Select 'Tools' from the menu, then 'Internet Options' from the drop down menu displayed. Click on the 'Privacy' tab from the dialog box displayed, and check the security level for the Internet zone. There are many options to which this can be set, the higher the level, the more chance that cookies will not be allowed. Try changing the level to a lower level then add the item to you basket again. Please be aware changing this setting may affect other functionality of your browser !

The discount voucher reference is not being accepted, why ?
There are different types of discount voucher available. Check the list below to see if you are using one of the following types.
  • Multi use vouchers. These vouchers are generally available and can be used by anybody, as many times as required. They are date restricted, so will be valid, for instance between 10th June and 22nd July 2003. Ensure that you are using the voucher within the date restrictions.
  • Single use vouchers. These vouchers are issued on special offer terms and can be used by any body, but once only. They are also date restricted. Ensure that the voucher has not already been used and that the voucher is within the date restrictions.
  • Gift voucher. These vouchers are issued when purchased by and invidual. They can be used once and only once. They will be valid seven days after purchase for a period of one year. Ensure that the gift voucher has not previously been used and that it is not outside the validity dates.

If you still feel the voucher is valid and should be accepted, ensure that the products you are purchasing are valid to have discount applied. For example if you are purchasing a gift voucher, any existing money off voucher discount will not be applied to it. When the gift voucher is used, a money off voucher can then be entered and any applicable discount will be applied at the time of purchase.

If you are not happy using payment methods over the Internet, you can also order from VistaDVD using either email or post. If you wish to print out the shopping basket page and then use this as hardcopy order, simply post it to the address on the contacts page, along with a cheque for the order total. When payment has been cleared the order will be posted back to you as normal.
You can email your order, and receive confirmation that the items are available and the total cost, following which payment must be received by cheque before the order will be dispatched.
Why do I have to register to place an order ?
For security and ease of use.
It is an added security measure that we require your address and contact details. It provides an added security check that can be performed by the credit / debit card acceptance.
Also if you register it provides VistaDVD the means to contact you if there are any problems with either your order or payment, and communicate with you directly.
Additionally, assuming you allow us, we can contact you with details of offers, new releases or general information that may be of interest to you.
If you still do not want to register on the site, but are still interested in ordering DVD's from VistaDVD, you can choose to pay by post, using a cheque. See the order information page for further details.

The shopping basket total does not seem to be correct, why, and what should I do about it ?
  • Ensure that all of the products within the shopping basket require payment. Any pre-order item will not require payment until the item is ready for shippment. Therefore it will not be included in the total of the shopping basket.
  • Ensure, if you are using a discount voucher that all items are appropriate for discounts. For example if you are purchasing a gift voucher, any existing money off voucher discount will not be applied to it. Therefore the total value of the shopping basket may not attract a discount and the expected total may be more.
I have registered, and signed on, but the site keeps asking me to sign on again ?
Each time you connect to the VistaDVD site a session is started. For security reasons after approximately 30 minutes, the session is closed down. This ensures that if you log on to the site and then leave your system before signing out, other people can not change your details ( including password ).
This will also happen if you leave the site for too long. If you require to visit other sites while still browsing the VistaDVD site, we suggest that you open a new browser window.
Once the session has timed out, you will loose the contents of your shopping basket and will be required to sign back on to the site.
I know that the DVD I am looking for is available, a friend has it. But it is shown as 'Deleted'. Why ?
Many DVD's are released in the UK, and for a number of different reasons, the distributor removes them from release and no longer produces them. This may be because they have updated the DVD to include extra features, or because of lack of sales. Sometimes there are still copies of the original DVD in stock so it is worth asking our department.
Because this information can change without notice, you may find a DVD on this site that has been deleted. If you order an item that has been deleted VistaDVD will contact you and notify you, then you have the option to cancel with a full refund, let us attempt to find a copy for you ( this may take time ) or to order a different item.
