Basic design / presentation philosophy.
The VistaDVD web site is run with four basic principals governing how the site
is used and how it performs. These are
- Dynamic. All pages presented to the user should,
if feasible, be dynamic in some
way. That is, each page is designed that the contents change every time a
user visits.
- Accessible. The site and information contained should be accessible
within a 'reasonable' time, and easy to navigate.
- Contactable. Any user visiting the VistaDVD web site should be able
to contact, normally via email, the company to express any views they have,
ask questions or request further information.
- Searchable. All information on the VistaDVD web site should be
searchable, so visitors can query the list of DVD's available the way they
want to, not the way VistaDVD want them to.
Banners / Advertisements
VistaDVD does not agree with using advertising banners or click through links to
third party sites. If you choose to come and view the VistaDVD web site, we do
not force you to see any third party information, or jump to any third party
site. There should be no pop-up, pop-under or pop-off (!) advertisements.

We do provide links to official web sites for those films that have them, and to
the studio / distributor where the information is available. These links are
provided for further information on each film if required by the visitor. Only
official film web sites are included.
Dynamic
Every page is designed so that different information is presented every time a
customer visits.
Accessible
Graphics are kept to a minimum, and links are provided , where it is deemed
useful, to other sections of the web site.
Contactable
Every page, and most sections have clearly marked email contact points where
visitors can inform VistaDVD of problems, or request further information. There
is also an extensive list of contact points on the contacts
page. Every effort is made to respond to any incoming email as early as
possible. Within normal working hours an initial response should be expected within 1 to 2 hours.
Searchable
As well as the Genre search buttons on the left hand navigation
bar, visitors can define their own search criteria on the main
search page. Here any combination of the options available can be entered to
search for DVD's on the VistaDVD site. For instance, search for all films from
director 'Doit Myway', with the word 'amazing' in the film title and costing less
than '£15.48'.
